What’s New in Solstice Integra Suite 6.2

Solstice Integra Suite 6.2 launches Solstice’s SOA governance testing as well as provides key testing improvements for web services and upgrades of integration technologies in customer SOA ecosystems.

The new features in Solstice Integra Suite 6.2 underscore Solstice’s leadership in validation of the Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) ecosystem.  Today’s ecosystems include multiple standard and vendor technologies supporting the development, processing and governance of composite applications.  Validation needs to assure the accurate integration of business processes and the interoperability of the enabling technologies.

Solstice Integra Suite 6.2 Features

Governance Testing - Companies relying on a UDDI-standard registry as part of their governance architecture can now automate the discovery of services.  When creating and editing Web Services test cases or modifying SOAP properties of an existing test case, Solstice Integra Suite users can search available services with a UDDI browser.

Enhanced Web Services Testing - Solstice enhanced its SOAP Editor, used for modifying SOAP messages created with a WSDL wizard.  New capabilities include:

  • An enhanced XML editor that uses WSDL and schema validation during editing

  • Ability to see the WSDL associated with a current message

  • Ability to modify message properties without having to run the WSDL wizard again

  • Improvement in the application of Solstice’s data substitution function for Web Services.

Solstice also added SAML tokens to secure SOAP messages.

Interoperability with Other Ecosystem Technologies – Solstice provides native testing for the broadest set of integration and SOA platforms.  In addition, Solstice was the first to market with seamless integration with HP’s Quality Center.  This facilitates the management of test assets for both traditional application testing and the specialized Solstice testing of integration and SOA.

Solstice Integra Suite 6.2 further aligns to other technologies by:

  • Supporting webMethods 7.1.

  • Certifying the bridge to Quality Center with Quality Center 9.2

  • Providing support for SSL over MQ

  • Deploying environment options for EJB testing.

The ability to support webMethods 7.1 along with all previous versions since 4.6 is one element of the unique automation that Solstice brings to difficult upgrade projects.  Key testing requirements for upgrades and an ROI model for investing in automation for upgrades are the subject of a new document discussing Upgrade Assurance.
